Looks good except for that huge "whiteout". Not sure why the other lightning looks good and that spot is so overexposed. Was there a lot of intercloud lightning going on there with a long shutter?

Anyway...I love the setting (the cornfield and the tree lined horizon with the misty fog) and the shot...the white spot just seems to take away from it. IMO

I love the shots, I have to say the copyright mark doesn't do a thing for me though. My eyes go straight to the mark and not the photo.

I like them both.... granted i like the second one best but only because the first one is so bright in the one spot. I would have been happy to shoot either of them. Any one care to share some advice for shooting lighting? I have tried several times and never had any luck.

Nice shots izatt! I'm up in Peoria and we had a great light show up here as well. I just wish I had a wider lens ;).

+1...there was a photo?

the huge area of overexposure is distracting to me in the first one. the second one is pretty, but the sky is kind of "flat" in that it has no variation in it. it almost comes off like bokeh being that its so smooth.

not that i have anything to compare. i have yet to grab my first lightning shots. so, this may be tougher than people make it look.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
