And now they're out of stock again on the kit at B&H - they had it in stock all evening.

I'm watching it anxiously, as mine just went back to them a few days ago RMA'd - and today I got an email telling me I'm waiting on BackOrder - even when they showed obvious stock on the site. When I call in the morning, they better not tell me mine is not shipping tomorrow, or I'm going to be pissed (it will confirm what I was worried about all along - they'll string me along since they already got my money)

They are in stock in Canada, and depending on how quick you need it, and based on yesterday's conversion rate, you'd be looking at:

3,047.01 USD

I'd wait!

In fact, while I'm going to look at a used 1D MK 3 tonight, I think I'll still go with 5DII and order from US....still cheaper!

EDIT: Bodies only look to be in at B&H

BH = NO TAX !!!

Yes, but technically you have to declare that out of state tax that you didn't pay during tax season...at least here in WI. ;)

Canoga is no tax for me either, and I pay less for quicker shipping.

Canoga are out of stuck too.

I'll be buying one in a few weeks, it'll be nice to get the $2499 price.

Wouldn't you know it I finally get to the point of saying OK I am going to buy it (and wife agrees), and now B&H is out of stock.

Anybody heard when the supply will be available? I want to get the body plus grip. I use grip on 40D and just don't think I could go without one now.

Do you pay cash? Do you ask them if they can waive the tax? I bought the ste2 from them last week.

I squirreled out....and bought one at Best Buy a week ago yesterday and it was 2699.00.....then just happened to check back on saturday and they had them on sale for 2499.00....so I printed it out, went in to the store on sunday and they gave me $200 + tax back......so I was glad I bought it there so I could recoup the difference. Really looking forwad to using it this weekend!!

I paid the 2699, where did you find it at Best Buy for 2499? Newspaper or on line

I just happened to check online last weekend.....it was not an online only purchase though, you just have to watch....because Best Buy has a policy that if they put it on sale within a certain window after you purchase it...I believe 3 weeks, you can go back and get refunded the difference. So it worked out real well for me.

No, but if you live in CA you are required to pay tax.
