Without going into the merits of which colorspace is better, you need to institute a consistent workflow. Either change your Photoshop workspace to match your camera (or raw converter settings) or change the camera settings to match the Photoshop workspace. JimE

Jun 07, 2009 14:13 | #19 Bodog: i shoot RAW and my camera setting is sRGB...I am trying to figure out the best settings in PSCS4 to utilize my calibrated monitor...

Bodog Goldmember 1,306 posts Joined Feb 2004 Location: Peculiar, MO More info | The camera's setting for color space does not affect the raw file. Apparently your converter is set to output Adobe RGB. You should either change that setting to sRGB or change Photoshop's working space to Adobe RGB. JimE

Jun 07, 2009 15:39 | #21 ok, so since i've already made changes to the RAW file and attempting to do final touches, which option should i choose so that i get the best results (ie - using my calibrated profile)?

Bodog Goldmember 1,306 posts Joined Feb 2004 Location: Peculiar, MO More info | The first question is really a judgment call. The simplest answer would be to convert at this point. Some would argue that you should keep the Adobe color space for your edits, then convert. Just don't discard... JimE

Jun 07, 2009 16:08 | #23 thanks Bodog - I'll go ahead and convert so that I can get back into ACR and adjust my settings. Man, I tried to get everything right to begin with and missed a step apparently. DOH!

You set the ACR output color space by clicking this line (ACR 4 and 5. ACR 3 has a drop down menu instead):
You don't need to convert for accurate color, but sRGB should be used for anything that goes on the web. For printing: Depends on what the printing company you use, wants. Most expect sRGB, so check with them. "I think the idea of art kills creativity" - Douglas Adams

Jun 09, 2009 19:52 | #25 hey René Damkot - I was missing the ACR settings that Bodog pointed out. Quick question, do I have to change that setting in ACR EVERY time? I change the setting on one image and the next time I open Bridge and bring a photo into ACR it is set to Adobe RGB instead of sRGB.
