Anyone going to the Dawlish Air Show (external link) on the 20th August 2009 or has anyone been before, if so where is the best place to stand.

Will be in Cornwall so will pop over to see this.

Hi there

I have been before and it is a great show.

If you want crowdline shots then the beach is a good place but if you want pics like these (and most probably much better!)

Then a farmer opens his field on the South-Western side of the bay, it is just where the aircraft pull up from their passes and proves a very good vantage point not available at most shows. It is a bit of a walk from the road but well worth it. If I remember correctly it was £5 per person to be in the field! A bit expensive but well worth it. EX7 0LA should get you there on Google Maps, it is the first large field in the 5 o'clock from the Smugglers Inn.

Advice already given is absolutely spot on. The field before the seashore. Aviationpictures must have been standing pretty close to me last year.

Hi

The field was quite busy last year but the weather was stunning. It started to fill up around 11am, but there was still plenty of space.

Let's just hope the weather improves. I don't know about you guys, but Devon has been dreadful the past couple of weeks.
