http://cgi.ebay.com …geName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 (external link)

I emailed the seller to ask of this was a mistake and, of course no response back. Low feedback seller so prolly not a chance I would buy from someone so new for a $850ish lens used.

Anyway, just thought it was funny...at least the seller is offering fre shipping!!

It's good money if they can get it! ;)

I guess I'm kind of lost (wouldn't be the 1st time), yea 2,500 is way to much but this lens for only $850? Wouldn't that be pretty cheap? New is around $1,600, yes?

I don't think it is a coincidence that that is the maximum ebay price that nets you the most 8% cashback allowed amount. My guess is that this seller and maybe somebody else is trying to scam the system.

Wow, TS...you might br right...buuut, the overhead in terms of payment costs and ebay fees will run about 8% or so...leaving a zero-sum-gain...then again the seller could be banking on the % to increase and then play that game for sure...I imagine a LOT of sellers did that very thing when it was at 30%...crap, what a windfall even after ebay/PP fees...$200 (or $250 back then) per sale with maybe 1/3 going back in fees...so a net of around $135/sale for not even really selling the item.

However, they may not be aware of the full implications either. Maybe they think they can do a refund of the paypal payment afterwards and still get to keep the cashback. Won't they be surprised when they find that MS and Ebay have had almost 1 year to iron out most of the obvious wrinkles and bugs.

I see things like this on ebay and craigslist all the time. I understand that some bought it at local stores for at/close to retail prices but some of them are just ridiculous. I guess there's a sucker born every minute.

excellent point...just further proof stoopid people should not breed. And in this case a brother-sister pairing might have been a step forward.

BTW, to the best of my knowledge I never have reproduced, which, makes all my friends extremely happy!! I get even with them though...I tell them I am waiting for their daughters to turn 18...hehehehe...

I sure would love to be a fly on the wall if that is what the seller is up to...and then they find out where they went waaaaay wrong.

and, hey good to post with you for a bit, haven't run into you around here in a while.

I consider that a good thing!! ;) Naw, I'm sorta the kind of person who just cannot live with myself if I am not 100% honest about things. I don't know why but I guess Mom did something right after all...dang it anyway!

Ditto!

Been busy with the house move, got my theater room about finished in the past week, and just sold one of my cameras to help furnish. I plan on selling one of my BNIB 50Ds and 28-135s here shortly, leaving me with just one 50D. :(
