I'm looking for a battery grip for my canon xsi, but I'm not too keen on ordering it from 47th street photo as they receive rather mixed reviews.

Is this really the only store who sells the Opteka battery grip I'm looking for? It seems to be the only store on amazon and ebay who sells this item.

I live in Europe, so it doesn't have to be an american store.

I got mine from 47th St through Amazon. I would suggest going through Amazon because they will cover you even when 47th St. is unresponsive.

Thanks for your replies.
I guess I'll try to order it from 47th St. and hope that everything goes smoothly :)

I just placed an order last week for mine exactly this way (via Amazon), expected arrival date 6/10. Will post a follow-up if you're interested.

Back when I had my XT I ordered the Opteka grip from 47th street photo via Amazon and had no problems with shipping or with the grip.

I just opened up my box from 47th st. photo and the grip is great! Very similar in build to the canon counterpart and exactly the same reliability so far as my opteka xti grip.
2 THUMBS UP for 47th st. photo!

Got mine from Amzon through 47th st. as well for T1i, but it didnt work. They received my returned item and issued me a new one. However, it's currently backordered so they said it will take 7-14days before they ship it out. Crossing my fingers.

That could be because the T1i is fairly new, i wouldnt worry about them making it right. I just hear you have to stay on them to make stuff right.

My grip arrived today. First image: box opened, you can see they didn't put that many packing peanuts in it, but the box itself probably provides enough cushioning. Second image: some of the items unpacked. Charging up the batteries now, but everything seems fine.

Update: both batteries charged, grip installed, I like it a lot. The grip adds a nice heft overall and really helps to balance out the camera, especially with my 24-70 mounted. As others have noted, the jog wheel is not as solid as the built-in, but the shutter release seems fine.
