Another guitarist who does not ever get rated good that I like lots, one who is very adaptable to different styles is Mark Knopfler. I remember when he played in concert here as a back-up guitarist alongside Clapton. That was some fantastic guitar playing to see live. Knopfler kept a fairly low profile, as it was Clapton's show, but they did a fantastic 30 minute encore that was almost all knopfler/Dire Straits music. One of the best concerts I have seen.

mine too.
Santana (top for me)
Eric Clapton
Jimmy Page
BB King

then it's kinda open with a bunch of them...

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #8115172 (external link)
There are many, many great guitarists. One of the top ones whether you like his music or not was Jimi Hendrix. I think my top 5, in no particular order, would be.

Jimi Hendrix
Eric Clapton
BB King
Jeff Beck
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Carlos Santana & Kirk Hammett (Metalica) would be close behind, followed by many others.

Nice lists. I have seen Clapton, Santana, BB king all multiple times and Stevie Ray once not long before he was killed.

Leyla worked her way to the front at a Clapton gig and managed to hand her Drivers license to a roadie asking him to get it signed. I told her she was crazy at the time but sure enough we received an envelop from the next location he was playing with her license signed by Clapton.

Crissa, not sure I can help either. I have had troubles like this is the past but somehow always seemed to get them sorted out. Could you not do a file search in Windows, not LR for a specific one you are looking for?

I have a LR folder with backups, I don't use LR to transfer my images, I use faststone then import the folder.

I was just about to type don't forget Mark Knoppfler,

Bryan May is also talented, just doesn't play my kind of music.

But David Gilmour from Pink Floyd is the daddy :-)

I can see them all in my "quick collection" but still can't see the original folder that I exported them to.

Yes, David Gilmour rates well for me too. The band is one of my all time favs, though I think I may have mentioned that a couple times before. :D

There are so many great guitarists that some don't really know, because they never really liked the style of music they played they never listened much.

Sounds like many a moment I have had with computers. :D

With all the failures of hardware and software I have had over the years, the stuff I lost was only minimal.

My sister and I agree on a couple things:

1. kids should be polite and practice common courtesy.
2. If they don't, push them down until they do. (we don't like hitting, lol)

LOL, I like your thinking!

Sweet Neil. Nice black helmet and jacket.
I tried to ride my brothers bike once. Didn't get very far, the thing is way to heavy for an inexperienced driver.

They changed the weekly hours effective 6/6, no one called me so I was an hour late. Not that it matters, I was finishing the month-end reports at home during that hour.

So now we are 8-4 Mon-Thur and 8-12 on Friday and will be until the end of August. The extra 1/2 day will be nice on the weekends, for sure. But doesn't look like they expect us to be back to 40 hours before the fall. Let me rephrase that, they don't expect to pay us for 40 hours before the fall, though some of us put in lots more with what we get done at home.

I did ask to talk to both owners today. I intend to negotiate for my 4th week of vacation to be granted this year, rather than waiting until next year. I'll let you know how that goes.

Forgot to tell you my, I can't believe you just did that, story of the weekend. Saturday there was a parent that kept coming over to our table and watching the slide show of some of the shots that will be on the CD. After their child performed in the evening show, they came up with a P&S and snapped a shot of our picture on the monitor. Never asked permission and of course didn't order a CD? What evah, I hope the shutter speed was fast and they have a big honk'n line through the picture.

Holy cwap to the slideshow thing Becky! People stink. I hope too their pic of the pic is terrible. Glare would be good.

GAH!!! I say GAH!!!

I JUST found out from my vet that Kona cannot go to the dog park (or high traffic dog areas until Hale has all her shots...that stupid parvo can be brought home!).

We can take him places with us but have to wash his feet with antibacterial soap up to the knees before he comes on the property.

GAH!!!

While Kona will, I'm sure, enjoy playing with the new pup, he's got to be exercised. This is going to be fun.

ACCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK.

When i worked on culling cows (during the foot & mouth crisis), we had to disinfect using a lemon / water based mixture. Cleans stuff right up. Wonder if it would do the same for general cleaning.

Yepper, lemon is great for cleaning, as is sweet orange oil, which smells fabulous. Also, blood orange essential oil is fab.

Nope, I don't. ;)

What do you do? Having a wander through the new posts I found myself in some of the "Gear" forums. I know it's not a safe place to play but hey I survived the mad muggers of Barcelona.

What do you do when you read a post that is either complete nonsense or just plain ridiculous.

One "super knowledgeable" guy is offering advice on how to use a 100-400 by saying "My settings with that lens is usually F8, ISO400, AV mode." I really want to point out that most people change their camera settings to match the scene, light and conditions, he must have incredible patience to wait for the conditions to match his settings.

Oh heck I am going to give up!

Oh good heavens.

short5 wrote in post #8114834 (external link)
I still struggle with this but maturity or something may be helping. There are way to many stupid people in the world to bother trying to correct them.
I hate the 100-400 argument that it is a "tricky" lens that must be used a certain way under certain conditions. I have seen good copies and bad copies. If you can only use it at one focal length and aperture setting in certain light I am convinced you have a bad copy. Spending $1500 on a zoom that only works in one spot is silly. This reminds me I need to send my piece of cwap 1-400 back, again.

Oh man, again!?!?!
