Cat that is exactly what I mean. I am so happy to hear that Roxy is moving on but I could not stand to hear if she wasn't. My boys are 11 and 12 years old this year and my heart is heavy already knowing that time is becoming limited.

The other day I posted a picture of one of the knives I am working on. Several people commented on the pattern in the steel. This thread in another forum shows how the pattern is made in the steel. It is a very interesting read if you like science, construction or arty type stuff. The stuff you actually care about starts with post #15.

Mike will definitely like it.

There are a lot of conversation posts as well. Just skip over those and only pay attention to the posts with pictures in them. The final pattern in the steel can be seen in post 107.

Mike a posted a thread last night from another forum where a guy shows how he forges Damascus steel. It is a very interesting read and I thought you might be interested. Just read the posts with pictures in it. http://www.bladeforums.com …s/showthread.php?t=650083 (external link)

Ah, thanks for the link :) Yes, I'm quite enjoying it. I've always loved the look of Damascus steel, btw. Very interesting read. I'd love to have a knife like that :) But, I imagine true artisan quality like that comes at a pretty hefty price.

I think you should do it. With an extended stop over in Vegas....

Vegas would be nice. I have not contributed to the "Lets build another huge hotel" fund for quite some time.

On whose part...? I don't think the author of that email was being sarcastic. ...

Post has to be a goof, troll, or just being sarcastic. No one can be that stupid.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

No more huge hotels for us. On of the big ones just got put on hold. They lost their funding about the time it got topped out. Now we have another half finished skeleton to look at.

It's on the list. I have two different patterns and will get it done. Now I'm off to the garage to earn some money.

I just had to share....I found my lost marbles!!!

I'd misplaced the kids' marbles last spring when I "organized" the fabric room....and found them today when I was pulling fabric out to take pictures.

Can I cry on your shoulders?

Remember Sam? The Great Dane/Lab mix? He was adopted from the shelter while Tevin and I were there taking photos before we left for vacation.

I loved Sam.. he was gorgeous, and sweet, and just one of those dogs that you instantly love.

The lady brought him back while we were on vacation. She said that her other dog didn't get along with him very well.

I saw him back when I went to the shelter Friday, and wanted to take him out and play with him. I felt so bad that he was brought back. But there were 10 dogs to take out and photograph, and I didn't have time to take him out.

They euthanized him yesterday.  I'm crushed. inconsolably so.

That's why I could never work with a shelter like you're doing.
