I just had to share....I found my lost marbles!!!

I'd misplaced the kids' marbles last spring when I "organized" the fabric room....and found them today when I was pulling fabric out to take pictures.

Marbles will pass, now them little magnets really are magnets of death.

BTW. 3/4 of my kids made at one trip to the hospital because of a swallowed itel. My oldest swallowed a straight pin. How he got it is still a mystery and it was by shear luck tha my wife spotted it as he put it in his mouth. Before she got across the room, it was gone. However, the x-ray at the hospital showed it clearly. Took two days, and it passed without incident. Daughter ate a lego, and the youngest ate a button battery from them Tamaguchi games..

Rock City in Chattanooga, TN.

never heard of it.

Well, I got the file recovery to work ok. The problem is, the files it recovered were ones I already had, and not from the day I am missing. I must have another card somewhere that has these photos on, the problem is, is that I am not real sure how many cards I have.

I do have to wonder why the empty directory actually showed it was created on the day in question.

Sorry Jim. I can imagine this is very frustrating to you.

Guineh wrote in post #8118628 (external link)
BTW, I know lots of you are on facebook, so I'd like to pass a warning to you:

You may have seen these on Facebook. Sometimes they appear near the legitimate buttons for another application, others are worded to goad you into trying their "application"

I've never been bit by them, and always wondered what happened if you gave them your cell number. Well, that's what happens. Beware.

that's good to know.

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #8119003 (external link)
Me too. I know there are a couple signature shots on there, for sure. ;)

yes but WHOSE signature shots? That is the question....

Can I cry on your shoulders?

Remember Sam? The Great Dane/Lab mix? He was adopted from the shelter while Tevin and I were there taking photos before we left for vacation.

I loved Sam.. he was gorgeous, and sweet, and just one of those dogs that you instantly love.

The lady brought him back while we were on vacation. She said that her other dog didn't get along with him very well.

I saw him back when I went to the shelter Friday, and wanted to take him out and play with him. I felt so bad that he was brought back. But there were 10 dogs to take out and photograph, and I didn't have time to take him out.

They euthanized him yesterday.  I'm crushed. inconsolably so.

aww that's very sad!
Is the one that Zane thought was cute...is it okay? (I can't remember his/her name)

cfpackerfan wrote in post #8119122 (external link)
Thanks guys. *snif*

Eric, little Roxy (the young black lab with the docked tail) was one that was taken from the shelter yesterday and sent to Ca this morning on the transport that Louie went on. If Helen Woodward center accepts her, she'll have a great chance at getting adopted soon.
If they don't accept her, she'll go into foster care till she's adopted.
But I wanted to let you know that she was one of the lucky ones that slipped past 'kill day' yesterday.

glad she's okay.

Random question.....I took some pictures of my guy with his car. Didn't use a CPL. Got lots of reflections on glass.

Would the CPL have helped?

Yes

eddarr wrote in post #8116988 (external link)
I don't think it will keep the glass from showing the reflection of something but it will keep the light glare from shiny/chrome parts from flaring.

Other way around - it works best on non-metallic reflections.

Yes, it would have . . .

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #8117134 (external link)
Well, I am going to have to start the scan all over. It found a bunch of .tif files, that makes no sense, but I think I may have done things wrong. Back to the drawing board. I sure hope these programs don't actually affect the card.

As long as you have it save them to another device, you're OK (even your hard drive).

Woolburr wrote in post #8117218 (external link)
A CPL would have turned your windshield clear...the sky reflection would virtually disappear.

That ^^^

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #8117348 (external link)
No go. It did not actually show the file extension of .tif in explorer, but it did when I viewed the file properties.

I tried to use another program, and tried opening the XLS file in Excel, both said the file was corrupt.

I just dug out a Sandisk disk, and will give it a whirl.

XLS? That's odd . . .

eddarr wrote in post #8117365 (external link)
JIm in explorer go up to the tools menu and then folder options. From there find the check mark for "Show file extensions". Click on that and it will show the extension in explorer. Then hit F2 on the keyboard and you can change the extension. It will tell you that it is unsafe to change but just hit ok.

That.

Woolburr wrote in post #8118034 (external link)
Nope...all my Canon RAW images have an .XLS file piggybacked to them...contains the metadata for the image.

.XLS? Or .XML? (eXtensible Markup Language)

The down side of rescue. You can't save them all. And sometimes you don't even get the decision to make . . . Been there, done that. Sorry. I know it hurts.
