Two new knives. Top one is the same Damascus with rosewood handles for my sheath maker. Bottom one is for me. It is standard high carbon steel with purpleheart and maple handles. I really have to get a DIY lightbox done for these.

I'm off to try and reduce the size of my reading stack. It gets bigger faster than I can take stuff off the top.

I so hear you on that. Not to count the novels I would like to read, I get about 6 trade magazines, and a couple self interest ones as well. Darn internet takes up much of my free time. :D

Turns out Lois washed the bedding today. We're having a standoff to see who breaks down first and makes the bed. I'm hiding in the office.

:lol:Just go crash in the unmade bed

This is what I threaten to do, Lisa can't stand it and begins to make the bed> :D

Have a good day and safe ride.

Thanks Zane. My 8 hours turned into 9.5, as I had to finish some work to cover someone else's butt

The first thing Abbie did when the family walked in was give the 2 year old massive slobbery face kisses.  He didn't mind, and the older boy thought it was hilarious.

They played outside with her (I had all the other dogs locked away in the bedroom) for quite some time, and they will definitely be able to keep her busy. They loved that she fetches, and she also played a great game of keep away with the older boy.

They really liked her.
They took her home with them for the evening, they need to make sure that she'll be ok with the mom's wheelchair (it's motorized).

But they want a dog that is about Abbie's age, well trained, good with the kids, but still trainable. She said that they want to train her to help the mom in the future if her illness progresses to the point where she is in the wheelchair all the time.
I think that is SO awesome, and Abbie is perfect for that.

They'll call me in a few hours and let me know what they've decided. :D :D

fingers still crossed (toes had to be uncrossed to ride)

This happens all the time to a friend who has an organic ranch. Some butt head wrote a book about good places to bicycle, they included the area around our horses. On the weekends we get packs of metrosexuals in bright spandex thinking they are riding the tour duh French. They ride 5 abreast on the country roads. Inevitably someone sees the Anatolian Shepherds my friend has as guard dogs for the sheep and decides because they are not obese and living in an air conditioned apartment they are suffering. They call animal control and leave nasty notes. Animal control doesn't even respond anymore they just call and say they got a report. These dogs are bred for livestock life and are MUCH happier in a field than a house. They have shelters, water and food twice a day. Here is one of the "poor" animals.

oh they look soo abused - lack of tummy rubs

wow, I did want a novel I guess because I could really see what you were saying.

Sometimes "perfect for us" isn't perfect in everything. I get it :)

I've been thinking over the last few days how two dogs from half the same lineage can be so different and yet both fit well with us. We can't help but love Kona...he's so expressive in everything he does. He keeps us active and obviously has a great joy in just living and we find his nuttiness very endearing. Hale has much less of a "personality" (if I'm expressing that correctly) but is so sweet that she draws out a completely type of affection from us. At least, in the 6 days we've had her, we've not seen a lot in the way of overt personality. She's got one but it's completely different from her half brother.

Well Tiff and Gus are different personalities, why would the fur kids be any different?

Billy adores him and I am sure he flushed plenty, when my mom asked Eli if he missed me he said he almost cries sometimes, but then sucks it up. LOL! She then asked how the cat was doing without me and he said he was confused. He does seem quite pleased to have me around and has sat on my lap for about an hourt now purring his little heart out.

He is happy Mom is home

No doubt, great expressions.

I like it Lisa. I thought it looked great earlier this month too. It is a great cut on you.

Hi all. I'm starving, we got anything more substantial in here than jello?

I had to fast for 6 hours due to us looking to buy some more life insurance. The underwriters RN was here this evening taking blood and what not. But, she commented on a picture of Aiden on the refrigerator so of course I was obligated to tell her we were part time photographers too. She was ecstatic, that we come to homes for portraits. Seems they have a farm with horses and no family photo.:D

Congrats on getting a new client.

In the middle of vacation I got an error that my camera body wasn't getting info from the lens and to clean the contacts, The lens hasn't been off the body for a few weeks, so I simply turned it off, released the lens and reconnected it and turned it on and it went away...but I did get nervous there for a bit!!

Glad it worked out for you. I would be more than a bit nervous about camera errors.

Pretty.

Morning everyone. I think I found the perfect time to catch up - start at about 4 am - I was able to catch up with out chasing pages being added.

Downside is 4 hours of sleep. Someone is going to be cranky at work tonight if she can't fit in a nap.

The problem is that I can't nap at work - to many new employees that need training, and too much going on. Tonight is the unofficial opening of Night Time Zoo and I get the 2:30 - 11:00 pm shift. You don't know how much I hate this shift. It really throws my body through loops first adjusting to it, then adjusting back to a "normal" schedule at the end of summer.

Read the mailing lists I do. They happen in a lot more than 3s.

Recursive dreaming. I've had that happen before. Sometimes it takes a while to realize you finally ate at the top level of the recursive loop.
