Is there any way for me to get a warranty on a DSLR camera I purchased on ebay?

How old is the camera?
Who did you buy it from?
What paper work have you got from the transaction?

Is there any way for me to get a warranty on a DSLR camera I purchased on ebay?

Being a bit pedantic here... but is your question... (1) Can I buy (take out) a new warranty on a (Canon ?) product that I bought from an original owner? OR (2) is it.. "Is the manufacturers warranty still valid for me after I bought it from someone on Ebay ? ".

As far as my experience has been: For (1), I don't know if any organisation sells an extended warranty for Canon products. It is possible. For (2), I have been able to get the 1DMKIII warranty work done without any questions asked by Canon about my camera purchased second hand on Ebay. A warranty is an unconditional manufacturers obligation for a fixed period of time (usually 12 months but currently 24 months for the MKIII)(or extra time if inbuilt faults are identified and/or ongoing). Some manufacturers allow/provide extended warranties to be purchased subject to the age and condition of the item. A warranty is NOT the same as a guarantee. Transfer of ownership shouldn't bring the warranty to an early end although companies often try to wriggle out of their obligations. In the UK, laws exist to protect consumers in the event that a product is "unfit for purpose". Reasonable life is expected.
Canon may have warranty conditions which preclude items bought in one country being warrantied in another country. That enables them to control the distribution and prices worldwide. In the EU, such practices are not strictly legal but certainly do exist due to loopholes in legislation.

Which of the two scenarios are you interested in?

I bought a brand new 50d off ebay as well... it says the blank warranty card is included... however, without the original receipt I won't be able to use the warranty? :(

The warranbty cards have zero value when it comes to getting warranty work. They want a copy of the receipt which would show the purchase date.I have also never bought new cmaera equipment that did not have the serail number right on the receipt. If you think about it, that makes sense.
