question about marketplace sell section..

I am interested in selling my lenses 17-55 IS and 11-16mm.... I have a paypal account.. Thing is, I've never done any business online via this forum or camera equipment related.... how safe is it?? once i get money from paypal, is there a chance that i can get scammed?? like fake payments etc...

I'm nervous about selling. Don't want to get ripped off or scammed as I love these lenses but gotta let them go.

Selling is usually safer than buying. To be one the safe side, make sure that the funds clear to your bank account before sending your lens to the buyer, and send to the address specified in the Paypal details. If the buyer wants you to send to another address, you should be sure that it's a valid reason.

The vast majority of deals here on POTN go through very smoothly - just check out ---=MARKETPLACE: Positive feedback=--- to see.

Always the chance of a charge back through credit card (Buyer claims they didn't receive). Always send with a tracking #. Even better only to verified Paypal address,tracked and insured with signature required.

it's also a good idea to seek someone local, or somewhat local, if you can help it.. face to face, at a coffee shop or someplace public where exchanging cash won't raise eyebrows is as safe as you can get.
Those 2 lenses are usually the kinda that have lots of demands and can be moved quickly, shouldn't be hard to find someone locally.
If this ends up being something you need to ship, do make sure you're shipping to what Paypal tells is the address, get a signature for the delivery, tracking, insurance, and make sure the funds sent to you have arrived
