They deal the cards, then play 'war' until one remains.

The winning TF Society member then assigns a title.

They could have Potter-like creatures which suck the life force from unsuspecting members.

Perhaps they use their psychic abilities to control birds minds... making them harder to photograph and such.

The title fairy is a magical creature, not some silly science fiction creation which you lot seem to be constructing.

The TF (super)naturally becomes manifest when a forum reaches a certain critical post density. Simple, really.
