I have a couple screw mount lenses (super tak 50 1.4, vivitar 28mm) I want to use with my EOS 1n. I have an adapter M42 to EOS and when I mount it all on the camera the shutter goes up and the battery check indicator (bc) flashes in the info window. Take the lens off and it works fine. I have read that people use this combination with success. I also read you need to file your adapter or block a switch on the 1n's mount so the camera shutter will work proplerly?

What is the best focusing screen to use with these old manual lenses?

Any information is appreciated.
