Thanks! It was partly for work, but luckily I had a lot of afternoon and weekend time!

Thanks for the props everyone! No_Trace, if you are going next weekend, make sure you bring some rain gear. It rained EVERY time I went out!

I have been watching the weather, they say it supposed to clear by the end of the week. Did you get any closer to the elk in that last shot? When we were there a couple of years ago they were everywhere we went...

#3 is a great shot. That lone tree with the background really sets the mood. Nice Shots and series.

The Elk here had MUCH larger racks than the ones in Grand Teton and Yelloewstone.

Nice shots. :)

Too funny! I just booked tickets for my wife and I to get there, SO THERE! :D

Any can't miss photo opportunities in mid July? I understand Crested Butte has a wildflower festival one of the weeks in July. Are there any suggestions for other locations? I mean with all the beauty of CO, it's hard to not have endless opportunities!

Too Funny. Well certainly Rocky Mtn National Park is kinda the Crown Jewel, but really almost anywhere in the Mtns in July. Just watch out for the afternoon lightening and rainstorm if you're on top of a mountain. We seem to be back to our every-afternoon thunderstorm pattern after many, many years.

Maroon Bells area is great that time of year. Peak-to-peak highway if you are driving (I presume you are).

Out west is the Colorado National Monument and interesting things in the Durango area Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Pikes Peak, Great Sand Dunes Park....

Stan - Sparker1 is probably more an expert than I am, hopefully he'll pop in here and for sure he can tell you better than I.
