Not sure if this is a cocoon or a mushroom growing on the tree?

Can you spot the frog?

Not sure if the fish in the pic is a Koi or a carp?

C&C always appreciated!

Cheers!

in the first pic there seems to be a blackness around the tree outline, is that from editing.

In number 2 it looks like a snail.

In number 2 it looks like a snail.

The first shot was taken yesterday around 1PM and the remaining shots were taken this morning, so the position of the sun and the intensity of it were different between the two days. No processing on my part to purposely darken them.

And thanks for the info on the snail!

Cheers!

I love the exposure in # 1. Any filters used?

No. All the pictures in this thread were taken with the EF14L II which can not accept any traditional front mount filters as the hood is permanently attached to protect the front element which is dome shaped.

What I do in post, to achieve that "look" is to make a second layer of the original shot, convert it to an infra-red b&w and then blend that back into the original color layer which helps to bring out the high-lites and soften the color a bit. It almost gives it an HDR look without actually going through the whole HDR regime. The third and forth shots are HDR processed.

Cheers!
