Whats good for a 1d series camera?

A reasonable price but stable and can go above an 055's height with centre column all way up.

largest lens will be a 100-400l. on the camera.

Cambridge, ON.

The tripods I use with my 1D series camera are, in the field a Slik 790DX PRO, and inside a Bogen 3246.

Budget? Kind of photography you do? Will you get only one? Will you be lugging it around all day?

You might read my thoughts on tripods and ballmounts below sig.

I have several but find most of them are weigh too heavy. The one I love the best is the Acratech GP. It is light and very sturdy. I regularly use it with my 1D III, a 100-400 and a Wimberly Sidekick gimble mount.

I highly recommend it.

I have a Manfrotto 3021 Pro Tripod w/ 322RC2 Head. I don't have any issues with it at all.
