Hello! I have been lurking here for a while now just getting ideas and opinions. I have been offer a 1Ds mark II with 12000 actuation's, recently serviced from canon for a smok'in price. I guess
I just need some justification on buying it.

I currently own a 40D, 50D, 24-105,17-40,70-200 2.8 is,100-400, 10-22,580 EX II, 430 EX. I am only an amateur but I love to take pictures. Am I ready for a pro body? Why not!

I have done a lot of reading here and I have learned a lot from what I believe to be knowledgeable people.

Thanks for reading and I hope to do more posting in the future.

That's a really good price. Does it include the battery charger? I've seen a few bodies offered for that price before but they didn't include the charger, which will run you $350 extra.

That is a great price, if I had the money, I would definitely go for it. Sell off one (or both) of your crop bodies and let the full frame do the talkin'!

I just made the same move as I got a 1D Mark 11. I only have a 40D but at the present time I am planning on hanging on to the 40D as a 2nd body. You have the 40 and the 50 and If I was in your shoes I would keep the 50 and sell the 40. Some people might disagree but as you read more about the 50 that would be the one I would choose to keep. My reasoning for that is mainly the viewfinder and the ability to microadjust your lens.

That's a very nice deal--I'd get rid of both the 40D and 50D if that's the only way to afford it. :D

Ridiculously good price (provided the body is in good shape).

Do it!!

Hey Sunshine...

Someone suggested you sell your two cameras and get the 1DsII. If you do that you will no longer need the 10-22 so sell that as well.

You will also see a reduction in the efective focal length of the rest of your glass as you'll be moving from a 1.6 crop to full frame. So, if you were wishing you had more reach with your long glass you'll really be hurting now.

If you used your 10-22 a bunch then you will need something to replace that on the new body so you may be looking at addtional glass if you need to go wider than 17mm.

With all that said, the 1DsII is a great camera and I don't know too many people that have been sorry for getting one.
