Tried out the sRAW files on my 40D yeterday and got to processing them today. No difference for in camrera performance but in DPP they open much slower. Also, they seem to convert to JPEG slower. All compared to normal RAW.

Anyone else noticed this? Anyone know what could be causing this?

It's all depends on your couputer's performance for showing the RAW file.

A Raw is 4 times bigger than an sRaw, so worst case it should take 4 times longer to process as it has 4 times the data to work on.

I think you both missed the issue here.

The sRAW file takes longer to load and process than a normal RAW file. I would think it would be quicker than the RAW file.

Thats what I expected too. Its a smaller file both disk size and actual picture size.
