Your angles and the lighting aren't the best. I would love #1 if it was shot from a different angle ... from behind their butts isn't the best. Did you get any of that pose from a different position. A very important thing to do with newborns is to move them as little as possible, so make sure you get shots from every possible angle for every pose you do. This will give you lots of variety very easily.

Yea I got a lot that were ruined by some camera shake -- my own fault.

The "butt" angle was asked for, I got some other shots, sans- right up the butt.. but this is the angle the mother asked for.. go figure.

Agree w/ swimchic. The lighting is a little distracting on a couple.

#5 is awesome though, I really like that one. Great job w/ the B&W.

Yea, I agree with the lighting.. I went all natural with the room light midday-early afternoon, I was actually shooting with a large sky light right over the setup (no direct sun down) but it was kind of acting like a very large softbox.

I agreed to do another shoot in a few weeks/months whatever.. I'll have a little strobist setup then so I'll add soft light to enhance some of the shots if necessary.

I think the black and white works wonderfully. I like image #6 best. Did you try the set in B & W?

No, perhaps I'll run the whole set through B&W and see how they look, I'm going to have to do some cropping and adjusting anyway for prints.. Really don't want the mother to be the one cropping an 8x10, 5x7, and 4x6 -- Rather have them set up ready to print at those sizes.
