hello, ive come across several sites with different pricing. Some asking about being a student ect for a discount.

http://www.provantage.com …earch.dll/compare/EMR9044 (external link)

Is that a full version or a chopped up version with the discount?

http://www.journeyed.com …OrD1rae_poCFcxM5QodpEAJdw (external link)

My son qualifies as a student for what their asking. It just seems strange that telling your a student that you save $150-$200 over normal price.

thanks for any advice.
i guess what im asking is that a shortened version?

Full version but cheaper. I have LR, CS4 MC and Office '07 pro plus, so take advantage of the discount.

I can't confirm it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 80% discount (on the master collection) I got was the price OSU paid for it. Such that, most retailers have a very high upsell for software. Or maybe I'm wrong...

Researching the mfg# on both versions they are 2 versions.
The main full( im thinking) version is like $250-$300

http://www.buy.com …/q/loc/105/208655997.html (external link)

MFG# is 65007312 .

The academic version mfg# is 65007403.

There seems to be a difference atleast number wise,im just hoping not performance and or features wise.

Thanks

Can you buy them on campus? I got my for $95 total; I'm not sure if that site will cost more to ship and whatnot. And once again, the academic versions are only cheaper - no difference in product.

I don't think that's the conspiracy.

I bought Lightroom for $99 at my daughters college bookstore. Same exact version as the retail box. The only downside will be when Adobe comes out with Lightroom 3. If you paid full retail for Lightroom 2 you would most likely get some type of discount when it came time to upgrade. You don't get that with the educational version. But at $99 I'll just go out and buy version 3 whenever its released.

So has a host of companies: Adobe isn't alone.
