So i notice a couple spots in a few of my images, and I remove them. Afterwards I want to switch back to my magnifying glass tool and get out of the spot healing tool. But I can't find a way to do this... I can switch to the red eye tool and stuff like that, but I can't get back to normal mode.... Any suggestions? I looked at the Lightroom FAQ thread and didn't see anything that related to this.

thanks

At the bottom of that tool section is the words "Reset" and "Close". Click "Close".

Just click on the Loupe tool and you are in "normal" view.

Humm.. You must be on a newer version.
I don't have the option for "Close"

Press "N"
Also learn the other shortcuts of the tools: They show when you hover over them, or you can find them in the menu. Press once to enter the tool, press again to leave.

This is LR 2.3:

Here is "Close" in LR2. In LR 1.4 I think it was in the toolbar on the botom.

I'm still on 1.3.1 :(
Haven't upgraded for a while because I don't want to lose my actions/presets.

You don't lose them! ;) When you open the catalog LR 2 will convert them to the new catalog!

Well, you can definitely upgrade to 1.4!

But, as René points out, there are shortcuts to a lot of things. For instance, N toggles between the Spot Removal on and then back to Loupe. Plus, when in Spot Removal you can toggle your Zoom view by pressing Z.

I don't think LR1.x has the Close button, but for sure check out that View menu to see the shortcuts available and play with them.
