I've had enough parents tell me they like the look of these pictures. I'm not so sure if the style is something interesting enough, so I said I need to come to potn for some real honest critique.

Post:
Bump to max in Lightroom: fill, recovery, brightness, clarity, and vibrance... export to Photoshop over original and reduce the layer to bring back some natural features. A gradient overlay to darken it a bit.

I would prefer more fill on the face.

I'd do a tighter crop - from the corner of the bat on out - this will create a nice leading line to his face. Also, I'd probably have shot this in landscape orientation, as I can use the bat's length more advantageously. The negative space to his right (our left) is not doing anything to help the image, as it kind of arrests the sense of motion you have going on there. If you had done the negative space on his left (our right) it would have more drama, more motion.

Interesting for the perspective distorsion it seems that instead of having a bat is preparing to launch a weight.
Funny.

I think is interesting.

I would be careful with the post processing, there is a halo around the kid and though it is not obvious right now it would be very visible on print. That is unless you did a really quick processing job to see the overall result and didn't care.
