Has anyone tried this? So far I'm very happy with my new camera (I replaced my A70), but I've been eyeing some scopes for a couple years now, so now that I have an existing 10x optical zoom, I'm starting to get a bit more serious about the scope.

Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome back, you've been gone a long time :) I haven't tried any spotting scopes, But I know alot of people have and had very good luck. How it would work on the S1 I don't know, one thing for sure is you'd need a good sturdy tri-pod. What I would do is see if you can borrow or rent one first and see how it works out. You might want to try and post this in one of the other threads like Accessories & Storage or talk about photography. Hope to see some of your work with the new camera. If I remember right you had some terrific stuff with your A70 :) :)

Hey, Stoney! I ended up returning the S1, and am now waiting on the S2 to drop in price (very impatiently, might I add). I'm still interested in buying a scope, but you have a good point about the tripod and renting before I buy. For now though I'm still using my A70. It still amazes me how great that little camera is... thank you for the compliment! I'll have to look for some more recent ones to post. :)

The S2 looks like one sweet camera 5mg with 12x zoom, I see where B&H Photo has it for $500.00 US. I moved up to the 10D just before it was discountinued so I saved a little. But I still kept my trust ole G3, it's a nice little camera to carry around, fits in the pocket if there big enough.  Can't wait to see some of your shots.

oops I just checked B&H and the price now is $479
