We decided to have a bit of fun before I went home to see my parents. So instead of the sensual and intimate look that I normally do for Maternity shoots, we wanted to go Rock 'N Roll and Sexy. C&C please as they are all done at 640 ISO for a grittier look......

And hey Manish, Im still trying to figure out this whole thing with the Softbox and Manual flash inside the darn thing... :)

Like the series. The bottom right shot is very sexy looking. Good job. Could we see more shots of her.

Lookin' good to me. The effect on the B&W's is pretty cool. Likin' the grain, a lot. :)

It's a bit tough at first, to guage everything with the softbox, and umbrella...but, as long as you keep everything about 45 degrees to the model/wife on either side, you should be good to go.

I'll link a picture, and describe where I placed the lights (though, I don't remember the power settings). Click Here. (external link)

One light (a 580EX) was placed inside the softbox at about 45 Degrees to the model. The light was on a stand about 6 feet up, and to the camera left, and tilted 'down' as far as it could go with that softbox.

The second light (another 580EX) was placed on another light stand, behind and to the models' left side (camera right) about 6 feet up, and again, at a 45 degree angle to provide the hair light. I used an 11" white umbrella as a bounce source.

There was a 'little' bit of natural light coming from up above (as we were in a parking garage).

That was it. I believe the exif is still retained, in that file, but for ease -- 5D + 85L, 1/160th, f 5.6 @ iso 100. The lights were about 3-4 feet in front and behind her so I could get the coverage I needed.

Hope that helps, but, your shots are really nice. ;)

Anytime. Hope I helped somewhere in there. ;)

It's a really basic, and classic, light setup...the Rembrandt style. ;)

Let's see some more, now...hehe.

I doubt rembrandt had to work with that set up..... Photography is hard in it self, and then someone comes along and makes the "Unreachable flash design softbox"...... :) Just kidding obviously, and as I can see from your stuff - ITS ME!

Michael, this is why I told you, set it, and forget it. Just set the power to 1/4 to 1/2 power on the flash, set your shutter speed to say 1/160th or 1/200th, and then, work with your aperture to do the rest. ;) Easier that way. :)
