Hi, I used to use this from the Scott Kelby site for my 40D files. http://www.rawworkflow.com …nt-jpeg-from-raw-utility/ (external link) But now I have a new 5DMK2, and for me the prog doesn't convert to JPEG with the files from the MK2. Is this usual , or does anyone have a workaround? Thanks

You can use DCRAW to extract the JPEG embedded in your RAW files.
Doing dcraw -e *.cr2 will extract all JPEG thumbnails in the folder at a rate of about 50-100 images/sec.

You can download DCRAW from: this site (external link).

Regards.

I converted the .cr2 files to .dng and got .jpegs from the .dng files.
Long winded, but I got there!

Not sure why it wouldn't work for you; it worked fine for my 5DmkII files. Are you doing it against full RAW or the SRAW files? Just trying to figure out what's different.
