Calibrated Monitor

So I've just bought a Pantone Huey and let it run... wow!

I have always thought that prints looked a little "blue" compared to what I saw on screen. But wow! the monitor calibrator has made my screen surprisingly blue!

So to everyone else who has used this, or a similar device... do you get used to the change? Does it help you?

I used a Spyder3 Pro and it makes a huge difference to my monitor. My Samsung is very heavy on the reds by default and the difference after calibration is remarkable. I like the Spyder's "before/after" screen - makes it very easy to see the improvement in skin tones and black/white/sepia tones.

Does your calibrated monitor match your prints?

Yeah its amazing the difference that the claibration makes. You dont realise how each monitor is so different than the others until you calibrate.

My print quality went through the roof when i bought the Spyder 2, its nearly 100% accurate when i soft proof.

I've yet to do some printing, when I get some time over the weekend I'll be giving it a try! But now that I'm getting used to it, photos on-screen are looking better
