Congrats to the winners!

Lavanut, I didn't get any bites from the ants in my photo, but last night I ran over a similar mound with my lawn mower and got quite a few bites! Ouch! But at least it gave me the idea for the photo. It was interesting to see them scattering around after having their nest tampered with.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!!This was my second competion to enter (first was "shining through") and I am very happy to have found this site and these competions.

I had been away from any real photograpy for about 5 years and this is my first real ventrue into DSLR after 30+ with 35,s and I must say I have found the passion once again. Thanks for giving my ego a little boost for voting me the winner.

I considered ants (as several did) but then I saw this beautiful little mushroom that had pushed its way up through the leaves and dirt over night, and the lights came on. The sun was just coming through the trees and lit it up for me at just the right time. "thank you lord"

There were some really nice photos here>

Hope I did this right in posting the new challenge for this week https://photography-on-the.net …howthread.php?t=711736The Eyes tell the Story" This shoud spur everyone that has ever used a macro to "thinking" and get there juices flowing!!

Pleae let me know what I need to do from here as I am a newbie!! Thanks

rickinferno, there's something about your shot that keeps drawing me back to it. Love it. Reminds me of the big spider, Sheila, I think, from LOTR. Love all those gray tones in the photo.
