I've noticed that some non mods with more generously sized avatars than 80 pixels. For example, there is one here that is 150 in the long dimension:

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=708918

Did we update this recently and it somehow slipped me?

Because I (ahem) have long felt that long term commitment to POTN should be rewarded with an increase in avatar size of a few pixels for each year of participation. It just makes good sense and has nothing to do with my sign-up date of 2003, ya know, it's just a good idea...

All kidding aside, has the 80 pixel limit been updated?

We think the Avatar Fairy is a close relative of he/she who's name we dare not speak...

Occasionally, non-mods are bestowed a larger avi temporarily for various reason. When the member changes their avi it will revert to the standard size. :)

No change to the avi size rule has occurred.

I don't dare mention any names for fear of the wrath of the TF, but apparently if you really enjoy being spanked, you get a nice reward afterwards.

Are you sure? CDS is first on the "Sleep with a Mod for a larger Avatar" list, but hasn't had any takers. It might be the whole "computer thing" people can't get past. I mean, how do you sleep with a computer?

Don't answer that!

I have been trying to change my Avatar for eons. My current Avatar is a photo of me at a younger age! (Believe it). The new one I want to post is less that 8Kb and maybe 50 by 50 or so and it gets rejected saying it is 14K. I give up!
