Noise Ninja and File Size

Hi,

I'm using the stand alone version of Noise Ninja 2. I am using it with Lightroom as an external batch editor. I have been applying Noise Ninja to some of my old 10D files, which results in TIFF files of 42,864 Kb. For some files I just need JPEG's so the TIFF's are overkill. Is there a way configure LR to export files to NN as JPEG's instead of TIFF's, or to generate somewhat smaller files? I have the External Editing preset in LR set to:

• File Format: TIFF
  
• Color Space : ProPhoto RGB
  
• Bit Depth 8 Bits/Component
  
• Resolution: 240
  
• Compression: None

I haven't done this with NN, but you can Export as a jpeg and invoke Noise Ninja as an After Export action (you set these up in a folder that you can open in the After Export drop-down window).

It's been a long time since I did something like this so I'm not sure how it would work with Noise Ninja. Maybe others have more experience here.

Thanks Tony. That was just what I needed to get started! I created an Export preset to create a Full Sized file to the same folder. I also had it add the new file to LR's catalog. I had the preset stack the new file also. In the Post Processing "After Export" section of the export I had it "Open in another application..." and selected Noise Ninja.

Great, Dom, I hope it does the job for you! I had created some things a couple years ago, so I knew it was there, but haven't left Lightroom for "special stuff" for just about that long!
