Would like to help you, but I have never even tried the video. The camera keeps distracting me by whining for me to take more photos! Take more photos! Take more photos! (Sheesh, it is a demanding little beast.) :)

Don't think of the video function of the mk II as a means of shooting 30 pictures a second. You won't be happy with the results.

Do you mean snapping a photo while recording video, or grabbing a photo out of your video using computer software later? If it's the later, I can grab photos from my SD780 IS HD video using Zoom Browser.

heres some frames from a vid I have been working on in premiere pro cs3

They extract as TIF at about 5mb - i reduced for web view.... and saved as jpg.

adobe pp3 you can extract as GIF aswell as a few others.. the frames are obviously 1920x1080

and heres a link to slightly edited frame (not much - its bed time) in original size and just converted to jpg and put on smugmug. the image is the last in the series and you can click 'original' size...

tried to put original 6mb TIFF up but smugmug isnt liking the file... might try a GIF

5mb x 30 per second? That's crazy!

well 6mb is just the tif that is extracted by premiere pro - when its a GIF its 1mb and looks terrible... when the tif is converted to a jpg at compression 9 its about 300kb...

the tif file would not be read by anything at smugmug nor windows - was viewable in google picasa though - go figure.

The recording rate is more like 4.5-5.5 mb per second. So extrapolate that data to about 166 kb per frame in its mov recorded state.
