Hi everyone

I'd like to buy some Cokin filters for landscape photography

I'll buy the holder and Adapter ring.
'mm otherwise I don't know what to buy especially since there are many numbers and different choices.
Honestly, I am not sure what will be the most useful for me.

According to your experience how many stop cuts do you recommend me to use ? and do I need more than one filter ?

Here are the choices
ND2 or ND2X for one stop, ND4 or ND4x for 2 stop, ND8 or ND8X for 3 stop

' mm another question, would it be enough if I used the ND4 filter only ?

thnx in advance

First off - Cokins have a color cast; try somebody else's brand. Nothing wrong with the Cokin P holders though. Second - what exactly do you want the filters for? Makes it easier to recommend the appropriate one.

thnx alot 4 ur quick response

what other brands do you recommend ?
If they are more expensives than Cokin filters, are they really worth it ?

'mmm if the price differences are much, is it ok to stick with the Cokin filters,
or shall I wait until I'll be able to afford the other brand ?

I 'd mainly use them for
the sky, sea, mountain, dawn ,and sunset shots.

Lee and HiTech are popular around here. I use Singh-Ray, but they aren't cheap. And unless you want to be correcting magenta casts in all your shots, they're worth it.

Sounds like you're looking for ND grads, not solid ND filters. For sunrise/sunset you would probably want a reverse GND, where the darkest level is in the middle of the filter; it's clear below and fades to clear toward the top. For sea, you'd need a regular hard-edged grad of 2-3 stops (depending on the sky brightness); for mountains you'd want a soft (again, strength depends on the sky brightness, and on the foreground).

I'll buy Lee filters, and all the ones u have recommended as soon as I am able 2 afford them

CAN I ASK U A FAVOR

could you please post me amazon or b&h links
for the filters u have recommened + a holder that can carry 3 filters plus its adapter size 77 mm and more + good tabco filter
cuz I don't want to choose myself, and there are many options when I tried to
( I am afraid to buy the wrong ones- I don't have any experience in them )

Truly, I have tried 2 choose, but I was completely lost!, and that's why I am askin' u to post 'em up
