Get shooting and posting some stuff then ;)

MotoX this Sunday?

My heart is just not in my photography this year. Inspiration has died. Just seem to have bigger issues to deal with.
Once I get through this month we should be better.
Wife has been off work sick some virual issue thats causing her to live on pain killers but dr has no idea what it is.
Family said NO to her going back to shift work. So we just have to battle on.

Have thought of packing up all my gear and going of to pro gear and selling up. Would solve one issue but create another 1.
Discused selling house and downsizing but again be just going backwards.

Oh, bugger. Sorry to hear that mate. If I can help in anyway, just yell ;)

Sometimes when it gets like this it's best to throw caution to the wind and say #*&£ it, and get out there.

Well, bit of a clear out... Sigma 10-20mm = SOLD - Canon 40D = SOLD (I better not need a back up body in the near future) & Canon 17-55 2.8 thats fired probably 500 shots is up for grabs too now.

And when the smoke settles, I think I broke even on the 3 items :D

Hmmmmm 50 1.4, the collection is complete.

However if I end up using it enough a 50 1.2 would be nice, but well see based on usage and what I get out of it.

Tim/Tonnes did that, and then his 5D2 went back to Canon twice for repair! Seems it working now mind, though he's scared to try live view again.

So is just his camera or is there a potential issue?

Erm, 2 dslrs, a 35mm slr (+ 2 lenses) and the Lomo. Had 17-40, 24-70 and 70-200 plus 50mm and ext tubes. 2 flashes, radio kit, remote, loads of batteries and all the other accesories. Two tripods, diffuser panel, reflector, Orbis, some film and drinks. All this over a Vertex 300, a Crumpler Brazillion $ home and a Manfrotto bag. Soon adds up... :( Vertex bag when empty is something like a couple of kilos...

Oh paperwork and a laptop too...

Tim's 5D2 fried on me when I took out of my bag for a shoot. Focus points wouldn't light up and it metered and WB'd very oddly. This was straight after doing the firmware upgrade for manual video. It went off (for four weeks) and they repaired the focus points. Worked fine til liveview went on and then boom! Reading like 30secs @ f/2.8 in decent sunshine etc. Went off for another two/three weeks and came back and seems to be working fine. He's scared sh!tless though of switching liveview on in case it fries again as he's got a lot of jobs to do with it currently. The thread he raised on here about it yielded no replies so it would seem he's just unlucky, but still. I won't disclose numbers as it's private business info but I'd say you're looking at about 12-15% of all the 5D2's we've sold have been back to service so far.

Great camera, but IMO, not thoroughly engineered enough.

Cheers, Dave.
