In Blenheim? Not a lot, most farming in the area, is converted to grapes, and I suspect many are rueing the change. There are still some small holdings farms, I don't think they employ much, the area some years back was mainly sheep farming. I have a foto somewhere of my first job, a pig farm in Renwick, between Picton and Blenheim. It is now just an overgrown property, no production of anything :(

Saw the new PW's in action tonight, shooting with a speedlight at 1/8000 f2.8. The new Bowens 500 lights can also shoot at 8000. possiblities!

That's is the big thing that they have over all of the others, the ability to go above the sync speed of your camera & still have full or near full power from the flash.

If they could get the reliability better, they would be fantastic.

Who knows Blenium well? I could go back to horticulture as there are a few grapes down there

Not well, spent 3 months at Woodbourne (basic training). Only bit of Blenheim I really got to know was the inside of a place called Barry's Bar

Went to Harvey Norman and asked for the price on a 5D Mk2.

Left empty handed. I don't need anothe $6K of debt even if it is on 4 years interest free. I was feeling depressed and in need of some retail therapy.........not that depressed!

Flights between the main centres are cheap now, but smallercentres are still pretty pricey to fly out of.

Yeah.....I figure it would be a bit like paying $1000 in interest ........either way I don't need one and can't justify the cost. It's just a hobby, and I don't use my Mk1 enough as it is.

in other news, we has a lightbulb explode today - click, boom! glass bit becomes a projectile and somehow manages to stay intact after hitting the floor. Looks like there's been an arcwelder at work between the bulb & the cap. Them philips bulbs 'aint made the way they used to...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

box looks the wrong shape... the previous models came in more "cube-like" packaging.

It's a poster, not a box :)
