I have just got a new pc running vista and can't get my printer to work that's connected to my XP pc. Plus the XP pc can't access the drives on the new machine, but the vista one can access the XP one. I have looked everywhere and tried all the advice, but sill no go. Does anyone have any ideas, or do I just wait for my win 7 upgrade?

I need help before all my hair is pulled out, not that there's much left now anyway.

Control Panel > Networking and Sharing Center > Is discovery turned on? File sharing turned on? etc etc by default a lot are turned off hence the XP machine will not find the Vista machine. Printer sharing is also under there :)

been there, done it. Changed the name of the workgroup on both machines to match. The XP pc can see the drives, just can't access them.

Cheers Alex.....

Try with password protect on and off, try with the windows firewall on and off (sometimes goes screwy).

After that theres about 10 other things that go wrong for no reason other than its retarded that can be found on google in about 5 seconds with a search re XP not accessing vista shares, always asking for password etc.

Agreed, although the 100mm2.8 IS looks interesting.

If you still need help, send me a PM. We can sort it out with teamviewer.

QUOTED IMAGE

Very cute. One of my friends approached a Zebra in Zambia unaware of the damage they could cause. Patted it, only to receive a kick and a nasty bruise. But she got to pat a Zebra... This dog has one less leg as a result of her encounter with a zebra.
