I stress again, those aren't fixed yet, and will be likely be lower in store. Just thought those of you desperate for news might like to know. :)

IMs getting topped out with status update requests eh? Ahh, patience...

Looks like it should almost be a mini 1 series, with it's dedicated af chip and new features, so pretty good i'm guessing. Fingers crossed i'll have my hands on one in the next couple of weeks.

Damn you Tim, now I am getting exciting. So wrong, the tool shouldn't be the exciting part, the creativity should... Ah well, I'm a geek.

One of my little girl, taken about 5 minutes after she'd rode her bike without stabilizers for the first time :D

very nice Jack - I'll mention cutting off the top of her head and leave it at that...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Did something I normally don't do.. and ordered it yesterday as my company was ordering some other stuff from a distributer that had a very good price, and therefore I wouldn't have to pay any postage. I'll let you know when it arrives.

;)

Heh, decided on the dell, with the lack of response from local retailers I wasnt confident of what would happen should I have warranty issues... Dell has a 3 year next business day warranty. Plus it will match my existing 24" dell, will turn that sideways and use it for surfing and palette storage .... *sigh* now to wait! (not my strong point)

Dell was $250 more but worth it for peace of mind and plus its all tax deductable :)

Enjoy it while you have it, it is gone in the blink of an eye. Don't forget too, let them be kids and not adults too soon, they can't go back either.

To Weka:
Tony I been thinking, (dangerous stuff that ;) ), if you can afford to go to Ashburton for a look in a few weeks time as you previously said, why not hire a camper from say Chch and spend some time driving around the Sth Island? Stop at towns of interest, check out the real estate shops and talk to them about the best parts of town etc, check the local adds as to work, you may want to go further south, Queenstown is in the middle of lakes and snow, and cold and hot, probably has IT opportunities, locally Roxborough has orchards, Balclutha is surrounded by farms, has a hospital, and there is always work going in surrounding districts, possibly with accomodation as well. South Otago can be very photogenic, check out my first flickr link. Bear in mind I was constrained by low budget and illness so could not travel very much.

A tour by camper will give you a better idea of travel distances involved, and also as to whether or not you can stand the cold. Just a suggestion.

One from this afternoon. I love this wee cove which is about 5 minutes away from my house. Just a shame the sky was so flat and overcast, next time hey?

Beautiful looking place. Seems a little over sharpened though

It was from one of our suppliers. We where putting in an order for a bunh of stuff, so they added my monitor to the order. That it arrived the next day was quite a surprise.

Spent a while cleaning up my desk, and setting it up. Callibrated it with the Spyder. I had to run through the callibration a few times, and reduce the contrast waaaay down before the spyder said the image was good.

Looking at photos on it is pretty amazing. You see a new level of detail with 1920 x 1200 pixels to play with.
Also with the S-IPS panel, you can look at the screen from any angle, and you don't see a difference in the colours or contrast of the image.

I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but up to now I can recommend the HP LP2475w if anyone is in the market for a new monitor.
