It was from one of our suppliers. We where putting in an order for a bunh of stuff, so they added my monitor to the order. That it arrived the next day was quite a surprise.

Spent a while cleaning up my desk, and setting it up. Callibrated it with the Spyder. I had to run through the callibration a few times, and reduce the contrast waaaay down before the spyder said the image was good.

Looking at photos on it is pretty amazing. You see a new level of detail with 1920 x 1200 pixels to play with.
Also with the S-IPS panel, you can look at the screen from any angle, and you don't see a difference in the colours or contrast of the image.

I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but up to now I can recommend the HP LP2475w if anyone is in the market for a new monitor.

Yay! Yes IPS is great, even with nice TN or PVA you always get the viewing angle aids.

I shall prob buy the 30 soon so it will go well in my triple setup :)

I have a 19" Samsung consumer LCD that's done me very well for four years. Prints look like what I see on the monitor. Still once I get a bigger desk I wouldn't mind either a bigger widescreen monitor or a couple of monitors. I love the 40" LCD TV hooked up to the computer though.

The Dell as similar features to the HP that I got, but the HP was 150 Euro cheaper, so nearly NZ$300.

Yer the HP certainly priced the best, would buy it currently however the Dell does look nicer physically.

Shrug, might add a 30 might not...going to leave my current job soon so will have to see.

Bull. :p Not in the country yet.

Been the World Press Photo exhibition today. Very, very cool as always but very surprising to see a queue to get in. Wellington obviously has really rather a lot of photo lovers! I know it's going to Tauranga and somewhere else in NZ so if you can make it, do so. Closes in Welly next weekend.

Also been struck this week by the photo promoting this years Toast Martinborough event, which is one of the only bits of selective colouring I've seen since Schindler's List that doesn't look cr@p to me. Awesome bit of lighting too. Love to know who shot it...

In other news, got my first rolls of film back from the new toy cameras and am very impressed. Loving the plastic fantastic! :D 8)

Cheers, Dave.

Finally got a chance to try out another new toy - Lee ND grad filter and holder. Looks like I need to get a soft edge as well.....

I"m knackered after a day of shooting... :/ started with a birthday party for 2 year old twins, followed by baby/kid product shots for 2 hours, ending with a quiet maternity session.. more twin madness in the morning :D
