I did invite Cory. You know how friendly and welcoming I am! And it appears to me that he might be a southern man, like myself.

How southern are we talking here... Invercargill? lol

Sick of this dam rain though, had to take a rain check on a car shoot :(

I don't think I have added a photo for a while. Here is one of a duck -

Blast from the past I know, but just last year I was asking on here for a wedding photographer last minute for a friend that I didn't feel I could do. Well, I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and shot my first wedding

http://www.facebook.com …id=529311923&l=6b194b0b87 (external link)

I've upgraded as well from a 350d to a 40d (I don't understand why people go for the compact slrs now), 430ex, 28-135mm IS USM and post processed in lightroom

couple of highlights

I've got another wedding lined up in October and trying to decide how much to charge. I've only just started and this wedding was the first, Sancho told me I wasn't charging enough (did it for free lol), whats the going rate btw? Also, big shout out to Harroz who shot a family friends wedding back in February, the photos were truly inspirational.

Anyone looking for a second wedding photographer? Would love to tag along (p.s im cheap...)

They look great!. The 1st and 3rd could do with a bit of fill flash (or the shadow\highlights tool) to brighten up the blokes face, but nice photos anyhow.

Anyone know a friend/company who would rent me a D3/D700, 24-70 F2.8, and flash from Wed to Sun? The loan I had hooked up has fallen through.

I guess you've tried Topic Rentals already?

Subway - you did well for your first time... checked out the album too - there's some great shots in there...

We started out charging between $600 - $1000 for weddings, and put prices up after every couple till we got enough under our belt :D

I didn't even know they existed, I only knew about Kingsize, thanks! I'll email them :) Shame all camera rental places are in Auckland, but could get a D3 locally and a lens through them.

Nice duck. But maybe you need a new lens and camera as it is a little unsharp

Very nice photos. I particularly like the last one. As said, a little fill with a flash or reflector would help brighten the face there.

I am possibly looking for an assistant in 10 weeks for 2 weddings. Pop over ;)

Cheers, I realised about the fill in light too late in the game, I possibly need some off camera flash triggers and definately need to upgrade to f2.8 lenses.

Seriously though, if anyone is looking for a second photographer, or if you and snwtoy need a third photographer id love to help out (im close to you too in Auckland I think!), im just keen to learn at the moment

There was a time when if I didn't check this place for 4 days, there would be 10+ pages to read! This time, just one. Quality tho.
