If anyone is interested - in a couple of weeks time they're having a Rally of NZ super stage in the Auckland Domain - Friday 7th May :D

http://www.rallynz.org.nz/spectators/free-events (external link)

Will be hopeless for photos as it will be dark, but still fun i'm sure :)

So other than Mark, anyone else going in for this?

I might try and leave work early, but it's a bit of a hike in to the city from Papakura

So long and thanks for all the flash

I'm hoping that ISO 1billion (or what ever stupid number the 5D2 does) plus my 550ex will help with night time shots of the cars.
There is a lot of street lighting etc around there so it should be ok.

Hampton downs would be fun, but if I don't do some work around the house I won't be allowed back inside

So long and thanks for all the flash

There is a quite long shake down through the Domain tomorrow, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.

I am not sure, but I would imagine that there would be some fairly large lights up at some parts of the stage at night as well. Manual exposure and manual flash would be the way to go, a couple of shots should be enough to dial in the settings but the crowd could be a problem

Rally NZ have given us a car pass and it doesn't have any dates or exclusions on it, so may give it a go at Hampton Downs on Saturday. ;)

First heat of 3 carts is 5:30 pm, 8 minutes latter the 2nd & another 8 minutes to the last heat. Final is 5.54 pm, prize giving @ 6:00 pm.

We have to be on site by 4:30 for Scrutineering, the draw for races, race & safety briefing and chasing the Grid Girls around.

A bit more than just an Audi engine, they both share the same VAG platforms which encompasses basic chassis design and drive train.

*Giggle* you said VAG!

Does anyone have any idea how/why/where my posting options have become screwed up? Especially when I reply using quote etc, it's like I am editing in raw html or something.... VERY frustrating... have no idea where or how it got changed :(

Clear cookies, clear cache, try again, or its that blasted button in top right of the edit window gone funny again (two A's).

Check in another browser which will tell you if the above stuff would/should fix it.
