40d discontinued?

i just looked at the B&H website and all 40d's and kits are discontinued...WTH?

robert's imaging doesn't have it on their website anymore either...it was there last week

Well that is a surprise.... not. Always was going to happen once Canon's stock had gone. Surely you did not think they were still making a 40D after the 50D was launched.....

Just sruprised it took this long.......

About 4-6 weeks ago (?), the 40D was listed as discontinued on Amazon, B&H, and other sites.
But after that some of these had it in stock again.

This time, though, I'm betting that the 40D won't return.
No xxD camera since at least 2004 had a shelf life longer than 18 months.
The 40D is now close to 22 months old.

YES! I have yet another "classic" camera. You know that means it's worth more now right?

Yep, the 50D is out and the 60D will arrive sometime soon. I love my 40D and just can't seem to part with it at all. I've tried and I still have it in my bag along with my G10 (that I thought would influence me to sell all my gear).

Adorama still has the 40d in stock, both new and refurbished. I just ordered one that is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

60D is coming in August per Canon Rumor though

Bought my 40D in April, glad I did!

I am sure there is an inventory of them out and about as well as replacement parts to last quite a while. I think though the lines run 2 series deep per production.
30D and 40D then 30D dropped....40D and 50D....then 40D dropped and 50D and 60D....then 50D dropped 60D and 70D....that kind of thing.

Well darn, my camera is now out of style lol

i used to own one but sold it to fund my 5D. but i was surprised canon discont it.
ohhh well im planning to get one in near future.

i've seen it online as 'in stock' from various camera stores. hmm, strange..

I absolutely love the 40D. Except for microadjustment and a better LCD screen, I think it's equally as good as the 50D.
