Well...my second Senior protrait. It was fun being outside but the weather wasnt cooperating. The morning was very overcast and started sprinkling at times. I wish the sun had come out for ten or fifteen minutes but never did. oh well. Please critique!

I think the first 4 could all use some fill flash to make the subject 'pop' a little more.
Posing I like. As for the shirt in #1 & 2- terrible for sr pic... not your choice though

she is so beautiful. I agree about the flash, however. just a little flat on colors and lighting. no too bad though, these are still very nice portraits. I would use a golden reflector and a flash on her side

You used fill flash..!?!

Hard to notice. The lighting does look a lil flat but I like the bokeh!

I sometimes feel that the lack of sun is of benefit - as in this case.

Sunshine is anathama to most portraiture. Too specular, too hot, to bright and leaves hard harsh shadows.

Thanks everyone. I'll work on the flat colors more. I"ll try a couple PP dodge and burn to get more contrast in the fabrics. I'll try the exposure comp in photoshop as well. I like RAW in this manner.

Go figure...as I was shooting I reviewed the images in my LCD. I zoomed in and everything looked great. even the fill flash I adjusted down a stop or two at first cos it looked blown out when I started. The histogram looked good as well.

Thanks again for the input...

Love the last one. Very 'thoughtful and grown up' looking shot. Agree that some color saturation might make them pop a bit more.

Very pretty young girl but showing up in a panda shirt was not the best choice. I'm very fortunate I can easily rationalize with people that there are many ways to approach something like a Sr Pic shoot and present options that will result in BETTER output.

hee hee ... maybe her grandmother that showed up to the session with her bought her the panda shirt... so she felt obliged. I dont understand her choice of wardrobe but I never tried to talk her out of it either.

I like especially the third and the last.

Also nice the fourth if the background not appear crooked.

In the first and the second the model still had to get some confidence.
