I have just got a G1 ---awesome camera ..
I have been cruising the news groups for some time to get additional information on the RAW format that the G1 produces AND I always come across a the term FIRMWARE ...what is firmware ?

The firmware is the software of the camera itself. In the camera is a kind of computer which runs on the firmware.
