Personally, since the firmware upgrade on the Pro 1, it looks like great camera as it is. I don't know how much Canon could tinker with it to improve it - is it officially out of production?
There could be a place for a compact that uses the 8MP APS-C CMOS sensor. Fixed L glass, good zoom, could be a goer? Would have o be priced right though.
