Waiting to see how the panny 20/1.7 will perform.

Look great to me.

Looks excitingly good to me, enough to get me excited all over again about this camera, what equivalent mm would the 20mm be?

Wow that panny lens certainly looks good. I can see this setup as very ideal for street photography.

40mm. A bit wider than the 25mm pancake and faster too. Almost makes me want to sell my current equipment just to fund a venture into m4/3. I think I'll wait for a EP1 or GF1 type body with a built-in VF first though.

Unfortunately it does.

I think, I'll wait for a bit. 400$ for a 20/1.7 that has such tiny elements is a really high price to pay. Makes much more sense to buy the kit and sell the GF1 body. Existing G1/GH1 users might want the body. Although, I think most people who buy the GF1 will want to get it with the pancake (and will therefore avoid a body-only sale).

I'll have my 7D in a few weeks and have already bought a Sigma 30/1.4 and a 17-55 2.8 for it. Too much money gone. For now, I am finding the sometimes-maligned 14-42 kit quite useful even at indoor lighting conditions at ISO 2000. Nifty little camera.

I have however, purchased a dumb EOS adapter and will see how the Sigma 30/1.4 works on the EP-1. It will probably be mightily unbalanced, will see.

I thought the 20mm f/1.7 was only $200.

Where? Adorama lists it for 399$. Price might fall in a few months, but I am not sure if these lenses (somewhat lower volume sales and limited market) will actually dip much as their demand will end up being low (compared to the regular P&S models).

If it is 200$, I will order one right now! In any case, I have the GF1/17 kit ordered from Adorama. Will see when it comes.

:lol::lol::lol:

I prefer the black/silver E-P1's look over the GF1, but I don't think the GF1 is ugly at all. Funny though.

If these camera with their pancakes are expected to spend any time in jeans pockets without any cover on, I would think the silver finish will tolerate the expected scratches better than a black camera.
