Tamron 18-200mm

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with the Tamron 18-200mm? I have been looking through previous topics on the forum and haven't found anything solid yet.

I'm in the process of purchasing a camera for the department I work for at a University. I would be using this camera for publications, internet photos, etc. I have the option of getting one of two 450D kits... one with the 18-55IS and 55-250IS (both lenses I personally own and love) and one with the Tamron 18-200... and I'm not familiar at all with the Tamron. The kit with the Tamron is $50 cheaper.

Any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated! :)

ONE handsome husband + THREE cute puppies + ONE 30D + THREE pieces of glass (Nifty Fifty, 18-55IS, 55-250) = ONE happy EmmyLou!

I'd get the 18-55/55-250 just because I wouldn't want to shoot anything longer than 100mm without IS.

Don't know anything specifically about the Tamron though....
