My friend Brittany and I were fooling around the other night playing dress-ups (never too old for dress ups!) and thought we'd try some 1940's style portraits. Just dropping by to share a few shots - C&C welcome too!

I like her pose in this one but think I need to get rid of the orange tint caused by the walls?

Good job on the attire and the hair style. I've seen lots of "1940's style" images shot recently and they usually don't have realistic clothing or hair styles, two of the three things a faux 1940's image needs. The other is hard lights which leaves hard shadows. The portraitists of the 1940s never used soft flat lighting like you have used here because they used fresnel lenses over their lights which made 'em hard.

My absolute favorite actress of the 1940s was the breathtakingly beautiful Greer Garson. As you can see by the two images of her below hard lighting was the order of the day.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Will definitely be reshooting after researching the lighting used back then.
Such a captivating era, don't you think? So many amazing personalities, and all of them beautiful.
Thanks for looking :)
