Norfolk Southern EMD SD40-2 6182 cranks up some of the 3000+ horsepower on the climb west from Asheville to Canton. Click for bigger image.

Nice one Dan. The only thing that is missing is a nicer color scheme on those engines, but not much you can do about that. And how many people are in the cab of that engine? Looks like I can see at least three.

Nice photo Dan! Regarding the color, I'd love to see something other than the yellow and black we have in this part of the country. The horse looks cool too!

There were actually 5 guys in the cab. Not uncommon for a large crew to hitch a ride from Asheville to Canton....guess they like taking the train at the end of the day instead of riding the crappy shuttle vans.

Thanks guys. They don't allow riders as a rule, although they did a special a couple weeks back for accredited media....part of Operation Lifesaver.
