Will it do any good to add another two 256mb pc1066 memory to the existing 512mb for working on pp for photos with cs3 or not much of any improvement for my Dell 8250 2.4 desktop computer (pushing it to its limits at this time). ps works ok but bridge is slow as are other plug ins?

Bumping it up to 1GB would be better.
Also, changing your Virtual Memory size to 1024 minimum and 2048 maximum will also help a bit.
I run CS4 on a P4 2.4 as well, they are getting a bit long in the tooth but still do the job.

If you go to 1gb memory, be sure to use two identical sticks of 512mb each. 2 x 1gb would be much better. Memory is very cheap.

Thanks Fut and Chas. I am looking for the memory that is compatable to give it a try; any way you look at it this old memory is very expensive. Still looking on e-bay for a good price for some used compatable pairs.

Yes - What they want for rambus is a crime; my only hope was to find someone selling an old system on craigslist or winning a bid on e-bay. Just wanted to confirm it will help before I bid on e-bay offers.

Yup, old dell 8200 series had rambus rated at 800mh or 1066mh (1066 was generally 4dimm dual dimm and maxed out at 1gb, while 800 maxed at 1.5, all thanks to a garbage mobo). I would have just suggested getting samsung memory from newegg, last i knew two 512mb sticks were selling for 150. More memory always helps though, especially on the P4 rigs. Once you break 4gb though, doesn't help the average folk too much.

And "strike freedom", RX-93 2 Hi-nu is better ;)

basroil: I started watching Gundam from the Seed series... so, I'm not familiar with the older Gundams...

Does RX-93 2 dock with anything? Have you seen SF dock with Meteor?

Also... now Japan have a real life size gundam...

You mean this guy:

HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/png'

RX-79 unit 2 GUNDAM "ver. KA" (model version, over the last thirty years the "original" has changed a lot)

As for RX-93, has 6 fin funnels, dual swords, decoy balloons, psyco-frame, etc. Basically, 20a is what you get when you mix the RX-93 with the F-91.

Has nothing to do with the memory, so... you can render a high res version of the rx-93 about 50% faster with twice the memory if you use a software render method in 3ds max thanks to the ability to render two sections of the frame at a time before needing to dump to file. Still need three runs of 1/3rd image each to get it, but better than software having to render the edges of 6 things each time. Not sure you'll use 3d rendering, but more memory does help, as does a faster graphics card (though at best you can only use 8x agp, so maybe a low x series from ati or a 6000 series from nvidia). That comp is near the end of it's useful repair life, if anything needs to be replaced, it may be time to consider spending a bit and getting something to replace it, EIDE (meaning molex+ some extra 5v board connectors) only psus are getting hard to come by, EIDI hdds cost more per gb than SATAII ones, no need to tell you about how expensive memory is now do i?
