The challenge is now closed. I'll try to get the winners posted as soon as I can. You all were killing me with all the entries this week!

OK, here goes... Sorry it took a while to get this up, but I wanted to try to make a few comments on each photo. They're in the order the entries were posted. Quite a few of you forgot to include a title, though, so try to remember next time!

Msjdg and "Nose Be" - This was a very nice shot that made me rethink my initial idea of naturally framed, but the subject was framed by the people on either side. Her expression and the framing naturally draws my eyes to her face.

Airfrogusmc - An interesting tree framed nicely by the arch. It reinforces the "solitude" of the tree to me.

Flo and "Vancouver at Sea" - The composition and lighting make this a nicely mysterious shot to me. Part of me wishes the glass was less cloudy but part of me likes it as it is.

Spidy and "Mushroom with a smile". It is indeed framed by the hole in the tree so yes, it qualifies! It's a pretty cool shot, and I like the smiley face on the 'shroom! :)

ducklabdad and "Daylight lily" - Beautiful colors and lighting. The flower was framed by the lily pads and other greenery around it.

dhnick102 - A nice shot of the road framed by fence and the trees and shrubbery. Next time don't forget your exif info on the post though!

jessicamedwards and the night shot - nice light trails framed by a window, I presume? I need to go out and try some of those shots.

tonylong and "Through the treetops" - Your shots of the mountains of the northwest always make me want to go there. Beautiful country!

billbo911 and "Smokey?" - Your entry made me laugh. I felt that way when I tried to get a bear shot in Yellowstone. I think I managed to get a backside once. Congrats on your bear shot here!

Shannyd and the turkeys - Nice birds! Was there some extra PP in the shot, or were the trees and flowers in the background really those colors? I like
the way it blended together.

dilorenzo1954 and "Framed by Love" - Another that made me rethink my definition of framed, but indeed it was by the parents. That was a beautiful pic that warmed my heart!

mikerault and "Watch the Birdies" - Were these little ones in your backyard? It's that time of year here isn't it? Robins (maybe) framed by the nest...

Jason C and "Obsessed" - Cool idea and nicely executed shot. Creative interpretation of the theme.

Samueli and the rock formation - I like how the curves of the frame on the right complement the rock formation's curves. The greenery on the rock in the center is complemented by the greenery to the left. Neat shot. Where is it?

MHO and the fisheye view of the house - The fisheye effect works well here, especially as it brings in the clouds

Nistelrooydude and "Mr Blue Face" - Cool bird, Henry. What kind is it? She fits in nicely in the branches there.

John_B and "Finger Frame" - Creative idea, John. Make your own frame if there's nothing else around to use. A nNice shot that made me smile!

Shack and "The ID Girls" - Some very pretty girls in a very large "wreath". Talk about framed! Another nicely executed shot. That wreath does a good job of focusing attention on the girls in the shot.

KandJinIN and "The Collar" - Poor dog! Recuperating from surgery or some other medical issue is no fun for dog or owner. I hope the pup is better!

Roy Mathers and the shot through the doorway - Beautiful shot. It has a dual frame where both complement each other. The woman in the center is perfectly positioned, and to me, all elements in the shot work well together.

Kendoway and the squirrel - If those guys are having their way around your deck like they are mine and the bird seed (even the hummingbird feeder), they should be "framed" and put away! Cute expression on the squirrel that captures their mischievious nature.

Shadowblade - Is that a temple? Nice colors and nice framing of the shot. The curves in the arch complement the curves in the dome. Very pretty.

Mike53545 and "Abandoned one room school" .. lights, darks, texture, windows and debris. A nice take on the old building that captures many elements in one shot.

So, after looking through all these, choosing the top 3 was NOT easy with all the great entries this week. The intent of the theme was to use things naturally occurring in the shot to creatively frame the subject(s). Based on that and looking at all the shots many times, here are my choices for the winners this week. I will tell you that this was tough!!
(drum roll, if you please...)

3rd place - Jason C and "Obsessed". I kept coming back to this one. The shot really intrigued me the more I looked at it.

2nd place goes to Roy Mathers and the doorway shot of the woman. I kept coming back to it thinking what a cool shot it was and how well it fit the theme. I'm glad Ed got you to enter. Great job! Just come up with a good title for it too!

1st place - dilorenzo1954 and "Framed by Love". It wasn't what I originally had in mind for the theme, but the more I thought about it and looked at it, the more I thought it fit. The title sums it up nicely. I think it's a wonderful shot. Congrats Ed!

Many thanks to ALL the participants this week even though you made my job very hard tonight. I guess it was a theme you enjoyed!

Way to go Ed!!! Awesome capture.

It was a great turnout this week, with a lot of quality captures. Hopefully this will begin a trend of lots of entries...

Lava, thank you for both the nod AND the time you took to critique every entry, it is very much appreciated.
