Al Green is one of the performers that was on my list to check out when I could. Needless to say, he is a classic. I looked forward to this. It was also my first shoot at Bonnaroo that was on the main stage...The What Stage. The stage itself was massive. From the photo pit the edge of the stage rose a good 12 ft...possibly more. Add to the fact that there were at least 200 photographers in the pit made positioning a big part of the gig. One did not have a lot of room to move around and up-noses were always a threat if you weren't careful. BTW, I have included one shot at 17mm that didn't even show 2/3rds of the stage. My guess was if you got 30-50 ft back you might have been able to capture the full band.
